Não se recomenda a iniciação imediata da TARV para adultos, adolescentes e crianças vivendo com HIV que tenham meningite criptocócica, devido ao risco de aumento da mortalidade; deve ser adiada por 4-6 semanas a partir do início do tratamento antifúngico.
