Either a tuberculin skin test (TST) or interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) can be used to test for latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI)

Notes and Remarks
The availability and affordability of the tests will determine which will be chosen by clinicians and programme managers. Neither TST nor IGRA can be used to diagnose active TB disease nor for diagnostic workup of adults suspected of having active TB.
