WHO suggests that pregnant women who have no symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection and are accessing health-care services for antenatal visits be screened for N. gonorrhoeae and/or C. trachomatis in settings where prevalence is high and resources and capacity are available. Recommendations for the management of symptomatic sexually transmitted infections should continue to be followed.
