In children 2–59 months of age with chest indrawing (with or without fast breathing) and no danger sign ( not able to drink or breastfeed, or vomits everything, or has had convulsions, or is lethargic or unconscious, or stridor or hypoxaemia) WHO recommends the use of oral amoxicillin for five days in the outpatient setting rather than injectable antibiotics in the inpatient setting

Remarks — The dosage and duration of treatment remain the same as the previous recommendation: at least 40 mg/kg per dose twice daily (80 mg/kg per day) for five days. — Based on the most critical outcome, that is, mortality by day 14, the GDG considered the consistency of the evidence as Moderate.
