First-line ART for adolescents should consist of two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) plus an non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) or an INSTI: tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) + lamivudine (3TC ) or emtricitabine (FTC) + efavirenz (EFV) as a fixed-dose combination is recommended as the preferred option to initiate ART
