Uncomplicated chlamydial infection in pregnant and breastfeeding women. When azithromycin is not available, WHO suggests one of the following options:

  • amoxicillin 500 mg orally three times a day for 7 days; or
  • erythromycin 500 mg orally four times a day for 7 days.

Remark

  • If using an alternative treatment for gonococcal infection (cefixime 800 mgplus azithromycin 2 g), maintain the 2 g dosage of azithromycin to coverchlamydial infection.
