Children with typhoid fever should be treated with a fluoroquinolone (i.e. Ciprofloxacin, Gatifloxacin, Ofloxacin, and Perfloxacin) as a first line treatment for 7–10 days. — Ciprofloxacin: orally 15 mg/kg/dose twice daily for 7–10 days.
