In patients with isoniazid-resistant, rifampicin-resistant TB or multidrug-resistant TB patients, elective partial lung resection (lobectomy or wedge resection) may be used alongside a recommended MDR-TB regimen

Partial lung resection for patients with MDR-TB is only to be considered under conditions of good surgical facilities, trained and experienced surgeons and with careful selection of candidates.
